Practical engineering. Honest value.

It started with our own woodland.

We bought woodland and went looking for tractors with the specification we needed, at a price that made sense. Years of research, practical engineering experience and a shared ambition became HOP-WOOD.

The search for our own machines

The right tractor.
The right specification.

A practical need became the foundation for a new family business.

There was plenty to do on our land: clearing access, moving material, digging and looking after the woodland. We needed capable tractors with a good specification, comfortable working arrangements and the versatility to take on different jobs.

The basic imports we considered did not offer the specification we required. The established-brand alternatives were difficult to justify for our own use. We needed a tractor when the work called for it, rather than a machine working all day, every day on a commercial farm.

So we kept looking. We spent years researching tractors, components and manufacturers, exploring what we could bring to the UK. That search led to an overseas manufacturing partner willing to work with us on the specification, make upgrades and supply tractors under the HOP-WOOD brand.

Our standard HOP-WOOD models are built to our own agreed specification, combining upgraded components with the operator comfort and working equipment selected for each tractor. We work closely with our manufacturing partner on the detail, and set out the included equipment clearly in each model listing and quotation.

A new business. Three generations of engineering.

An eye for detail.
A mind for solutions.

HOP-WOOD is a new family venture with an engineering background spanning three generations: father, son and grandson. The business draws on practical experience in engineering, welding, fabrication and steel erection, with knowledge passed on and developed through working together.

Father and son spent years resolving issues on engineering projects. That work established a practical discipline: examine how something is made, identify the cause of a problem and develop a solution that works. Observation, logical thinking and attention to detail are central to the knowledge being passed to the next generation.

We bring that approach to HOP-WOOD. It informs how we assess construction and specification, the questions we ask our manufacturing partner and the detail of our preparation. We also value straightforward mechanical design and practical access for routine servicing.

An investment matched to your work

Specification that matters.
Value that makes sense.

A capable tractor can work regularly across a range of jobs without spending every day in continuous commercial use. HOP-WOOD offers a strong specification at a competitive purchase price for private owners and businesses alike.

A considered investment

A balance that suits your work.

For intensive commercial workloads, extensive local dealer networks and wider ownership services may justify a higher initial investment. Where a tractor works regularly across varied jobs, with a different pattern of use, the balance between purchase price, specification and support may be different. We focus on helping customers find the specification and ownership arrangements that make sense for their work.

Private owners & businesses

Direct support from HOP-WOOD.

We welcome private owners and commercial customers, working with you to develop a suitable tractor specification and any optional attachments. The scope of support, warranty and aftercare is confirmed in the written quotation and order documentation.

Putting the launch models to work

Our land. Our machines.
Real experience.

Our 50 hp RAM and 70 hp BULL launch models have helped build HOP-WOOD from the ground up. On our own woodland site, they are carrying out substantial work: clearing access, moving material, digging and supporting the construction of our barn and workshop. They are working machines as well as the tractors we use to introduce the brand.

Using the tractors and their attachments ourselves gives us practical experience of the specification in real conditions. During this preparation and shakedown, minor issues have been identified and resolved before customer supply. The work has informed the agreed HOP-WOOD specification and our preparation process.

Our collection of working videos shows the launch models tackling these jobs. Footage is available on request.
